FAQ

Frequently asked questions about not-for-profit accounting

We’re often asked about our accounting, auditing and management services for not-for-profit organisations. Here are answers to some of the most common questions, to give you an idea of how we can help you.

How do we begin?

We start with a one hour complementary consultation to learn about each other and discover how we can best help you.

We will provide you with a detailed proposal outlining the terms of our engagement with you and your organisation. Once you accept our proposal our journey begins.

Every step of the way, we will keep communication open and be supportive so that you know we are on your side. Our intention will always be to meet your needs and empower your decision making with timely, clear and accurate information.

Why should we use a not-for-profit specialist ?

Not-for-profit organisations are the only kind we work with. We live and breathe the third sector and have over 35 years of combined expertise. It’s safe to say our skills, qualifications and experience give us the acumen to successfully guide your organisation through every scenario.  Choosing us as your accountant, auditor or consultant, will bring you exceptional value because we know our craft.

Why should we outsource our financial, auditing and management tasks?

When you just don’t have the time, people or resources to take care of these things in house, finding someone who specialises in them makes sense. Use us only when you need, for a day, a few weeks, every quarter or ad-hoc. This will free up your resources to make maximum impact where it’s needed most.

What if I’m not based in Adelaide – can you still help me?

Definitely. We help not-for-profits across Australia, including regional and metro areas. While we’d love to meet in person, we can use technology to overcome the kilometres between us. We are available by phone or email, and use cloud based systems and services to provide information and keep you in the loop every step of the way.

But we’re just a small not-for-profit. Can you still help us?

Of course. And it would be a privilege to do so. We’ve set ourselves up to be flexible so we can help organisations of all shapes and sizes.

Do you offer pro bono services?

No, we don’t offer our services free of charge. We know that budgets can be tight, and that’s why we are happy for you to use our services for as little – or as long – as you need.

How do you charge – fixed fee or pay as we go?

Whatever you prefer, we are happy to accommodate your needs. We know that every organisation is different.
